The famous resorts of Abano and Montegrotto Terme are located along the northeastern edge of the Euganean hills in Italy, close to Padua and Venice.  The therapeutic benefits obteined from the thermal waters of the Alps, combined with the hotels' accomodations receiving more than 250.000 tourists per year, make this area one of the most important the thermal-mud spa in the world.

In this context, the Hotel Terme Millepini has always emerged as one of the most prestigious accommodation; the Hotel Director Emanuele Boaretto, architect, has designed and built in the hotel the deepest pool in the world.

Very quickly this project, Y-40, is realized, born with unique and original features. In June 2014 it becomes registered on the Guiness World Record. Open 365 days a year Y-40 guarantees spaces dedicated to scubadivers and freedivers, the immensity of a movie set and for photo shootings, a safe location for professional underwater tests, for experiencing the most aquatics possibilities.

Mec Gru solution

From the beginning of the project Mec Gru assessed with the customer the most suitable technical solution  for installing facilities and the paving of the pool down to 40 meters of depth. A custom monorail is installed in the ceiling of the pool with an electric chain hoist, SWF CHAINster, with a lifting speed increased to 16 m/min , a special chain box and a Telecrane Italia Silver Hoist radio control.

The project has been completed, it is fully operating and has become a huge success beyond any expectation. Thousands of visitors are thrilled to see and use this innovative deep pool, unique in the world. The SWF hoist has been used intensively and with full satisfaction for months and today is slaved to maintenance of the structure and used when needed.
